There have been countless times that I've jumped to it, she starts to slide, I press jump, and she continues to slide off the pillar to her death. The biggest problem is the broken pillar that you first have to jump on then jump off of to get to the first pole, because Lara doesn't like to jump off of it most of the time. Fun stuff.Īfter you defeat the demons you have to leap to a broken pillar, slide down it, jump to a pole, reverse the direction that you're swinging in, jump to another pole, swing and jump to a ledge, shimmy around it, jump to another pole, swing and jump off shooting your grapple at a ring, grapple run and then jump off the wall, slide down a small slope, jump and shoot your grapple at another ring, grapple run and jump off onto a ledge to make it to the next platform all before the rings and poles on the walls retract. It's too bad that the checkpoint wasn't given to you after you defeat the demons instead of before, because when you die after defeating the demons, which you will, you have to start the sequence all over again. And I also dislike how the demons' fireballs are timed perfectly to hit you just as you're recovering from getting hit previously, preventing you from getting a chance to fire back. It's also frustrating when one of the demons flys off screen and you can't hit it, but it can hit you. The worst part is when you go to aim at a demon, but Lara decides to aim at the target on the wall instead. What makes things worse is that if you get hit with a fireball, it basically lunges you uncontrollably usually resulting in you falling to your death.

In other words, you don't have much room to dodge, and if you get too close to the edges expect a long fall into the lava below. You have to fight the two flying demons while standing on a fairly small platform where you have limited maneuverability. This presents the fist frustrating part of this sequence. The first time that you shoot the target on the wall, two winged demons fly out of their cocoons and start firing fireballs at you. This was all fine and good until the one near the top that was a lot more tricky.

Basically, you have to shoot at little targets on the walls to make timed grapple rings appear on the walls, and then grapple swing to the next platform above you before they retract. But the most frustrating part in the game, for me anyway, took place in The Great Pyramid near the end of the game when you had to make your way up the tall room with the lava below. While for the most part I got through Tomb Raider: Anniversary without too many problems, there were a few areas in the game that really frustrated me.
